Board of Trustees

Trinity Christian School is governed by an independent, self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. Trinity has been blessed throughout its history with trustees who are well-qualified both professionally and spiritually to provide leadership as the school has grown.

 

Shannon Allen, Chair

TCS Parent

Since the Allen family arrived at Trinity in 2015, Shannon is an active volunteer at the school, a committed member of the Moms-in-Prayer ministry, and an avid TCS sports fan. She is also a regular volunteer and member of the Board of Directors at the Lamb Center, a daytime counseling center for the poor and homeless in Fairfax. She and her husband, Marc, are raising four TCS children (two graduates) in Fairfax, Virginia, after calling Beijing, China, and Seattle, Washington home as well. Shannon and her family worship at Alexandria Presbyterian Church.

 

 

 

 


 

Craig Maul, Vice-Chair

Perinatal Information Systems Analyst
Inova Health System

Craig and his wife Denise, along with their two children, live in Fairfax, Virginia, and worship at Redeeming Grace Church. Their son is in fourth grade at Trinity. His five-year-old little sister cannot wait to be a Gryphon in the fall when she enters kindergarten.  Craig works at Inova as a Perinatal Information Systems Analyst and is also a Co-owner, with his wife Denise, of LOTO Inc..

 

 

 

 



Michael Hardesty, Treasurer

Michael is Corporate Vice President and Controller of Northrop Grumman Corporation. He attends Cornerstone Chapel and has three children - two graduates of Trinity and a current student in the Upper School.

 

 

 

 

 



Julie Phillips, Secretary

Trinity Parent

Julie and her husband, Dirk, have been a part of the Trinity community since 2009. They have two children currently attending Trinity and two Trinity graduates. Julie has found joy in being a parent volunteer, PTO board member, mentor mom, and grade-level representative for many of her years at Trinity. Before becoming a mom, Julie received her master’s degree in education from the University of Virginia and served as an elementary school classroom teacher for five years. Julie and her family worship at McLean Presbyterian Church, where the children are active members of the children’s and youth ministries, Julie serves as a mentor mom for the MOPS ministry, and the family has been involved with the Capital Fellows Program both as a host family and a mentor for many years.

 

 


 

Wallace L. Butler

Wallace is Senior Managing Counsel, Federal for Palo Alto Networks. He and his wife attend Agape Embassy Ministries and live in Vienna, Virginia. They have three children – two are current students at Trinity in 4th and 6th grade.

 

 

 

 

 


 

Steven Chung

Steven is a Partner at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and co-head of the firm’s Corporate and Finance Group. He attends Open Door Presbyterian Church with his wife, Michelle. He has one child attending Trinity and two Trinity graduates. He has previously served on the Board of Trustees as Chair and Vice-Chair.

 

 

 

 


 

Nicole Hoplin

Nicole and her husband, Eric, have three sons at TCS.  She is the co-founder and president of Hoplin Jackson Charitable Advisors.  An expert in philanthropy, Nicole helps clients nationwide create more impact with their charitable giving, and, in so doing, makes giving away wealth as joyful and fulfilling as creating it. She is the author of Funding Fathers: The Unsung Heroes of the Conservative Movement and Ten Secrets of Successful Giving.  The Hoplins are active members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Herndon. 

 

 

 


 

Casey Mattox

Vice President for Legal and Judicial Strategy
Americans for Prosperity

Casey is Vice President of Legal and Judicial Strategy for Americans for Prosperity and Senior Fellow for Free Speech at Stand Together Trust. Prior to his current roles, he litigated free speech and religious liberty cases for The Alliance Defending Freedom and the Christian Legal Society. He and his wife Samantha have two daughters at Trinity and another son who they hope will be a Gryphon one day. They worship with Fairfax Bible Church.

 

 

 


 

David Meeker

Principal Senior Analyst
SAIC

David and his wife, Stephanie, have four Trinity graduates, a Trinity eighth grader and a high school sophomore. The Meekers have been a TCS family since 2011 and attend Park Valley Church in Haymarket. David is a Principal Senior Analyst with SAIC and volunteers with the Crisis Management Team for an orphanage in Haiti. He is also a veteran of the US Navy.

 

 

 

 


 

William Moss

Bill is Vice President and Controller for General Dynamics Corporation. He teaches Sunday School at Expectation Church and has four Trinity graduates.

 

 

 

 

 


 

Aaron Renenger

Trinity Parent

Aaron lives with his wife, Christina, in McLean, Virginia.  They have been long-time members of the Trinity community, having enrolled their oldest, now a freshman in college, at Trinity as a kindergartner.   They attend Alexandria Presbyterian Church, where Aaron oversees the adult education ministry.  Aaron is an attorney in his spare time.  

 

 


 

Santiago Sedaca

Chief Impact Officer
Wise Responder

Santiago has worked at the intersection of business and international development for 25 years, managing strategy and development programs in more than 40 countries. He now serves as Chief Impact Officer at Wise Responder. He studied at Gordon College and later received his Masters degree at Georgetown University, where he met his wife, Nicole. They have three children, all attending Trinity. They worship at Restoration Anglican Church, where Santiago has served as Warden. He sits on the Boards of Gordon College and ENLACE, a Christian relief and development agency based out of Central America. 

 

 

 


 

Kristen Short

Managing Partner
Advance Strategies

Kristen and her husband, Marc, live in Arlington, Virginia. They have two sons in college and a daughter at Trinity. All are active members of The Falls Church Anglican, where Kristen currently serves as junior Warden (vice chair) of the vestry (board). As an experienced development consultant, Kristen enjoys helping leaders and organizations achieve mission-driven success.

 

 

 

 


 

Matt Thomas, Ed.D

Matt has served in education for more than 25 years, serving in Christian schools, Christian higher education, seminaries, the Christian non-profit sector, and pastoral ministry. He has devoted his career to serving and strengthening Christian educational institutions for the flourishing of students, faculty, and staff.  

Matt and his wife Beth have three daughters, Emma (Grade 12), Elli (Grade 9), and Abby (Grade 5). 

 

 

 


 

Mark Whitaker, Esq.

Mark and his wife, Kristen, have five children: two in the Upper School and three Trinity graduates (2015, 2018, and 2021). The Whitakers attend The Falls Church Anglican. Mark is a corporate and finance partner at DLA Piper LLP (US), where he regularly represents domestic and international professional sports franchises as well as lenders in financings involving sports properties. He has previously served on the Board of Trustees as Chair, Vice-Chair, and Treasurer.

Tom and his wife, Kim, have one child attending Trinity and another child who has graduated from Trinity.  Tom and his family are active members of The Falls Church Anglican where he has held a variety of leadership positions including serving on the Vestry and as current Chair of the Finance Committee. Professionally, he is a partner at Yates Campbell & Hoeg LLP where his law practice concentrates in the area of trusts and estates law.

Johnny and his wife, Lina, have three children, all students at Trinity. The Yun family resides in Vienna and attends church at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg. He is an avid Trinity Volleyball fan.
