Our school submitted 26 pieces of art from grades 7-12, and these 5 awards are significant achievements for our students. Be sure to offer your congratulations to each of them. An awards ceremony honoring them is on Tuesday, February 21, and the entire regional display is available to see at the Ernst Cultural Center on the Annandale campus of Northern Virginia Community College through Thursday, February 23.
Since 1923, the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, a nonprofit organization, has identified teenagers with exceptional artistic and literary talent and brought their remarkable work to a national audience through The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. This year, 200,000 works were submitted to the Alliance and its 116 Regional Affiliate partners for review by professionals in the visual and literary arts.
