Grandfriends Day is an annual patriotic musical presentation put on by the entire lower school. On Friday, May 25, the students honored those who have served in the armed forces with a program entitled Spring Awakening! Lower School Principal Elizabeth Anger welcomed everyone, and the morning began with the congregation singing the Star Spangled Banner. A slideshow of former Trinity students and relatives who have served in the armed forces was shown while sixteen musical pieces were performed, including When the Saints Go Marching In and Onward, Christian Soldiers. At the end of the program, all of the lower school students joined together in singing American Heroes: A Salute to the Armed Forces, and the upper school chorus performed the finale: The Mansions of the Lord. Many thanks to the following faculty members for their excellent work in preparing the students for this wonderful annual event: Lower School Choral Director Ashley Allen, Lower School Strings Director Austin Isaac, Fourth Grade Recorders Director Joe Perrock, and Accompanist and Upper School Choral Director Debbie Koth.
