Each year there are five spirit days in the middle school. The themes for these events are chosen by the students, in coordination with the student government. For example, this year there was a Crazy Hats, Hairstyles, Socks and Shoes Day. There was also an Animal Day. The final spirit day, held in May, was Super Hero Day. These special events give the boys and girls an opportunity to have some fun, demonstrate creativity in designing their costumes, and experience camaraderie. A number of students enjoy coordinating with their friends to design matching outfits. Even some of the teachers get in on the fun, delighting the students with unique attire.
