Testing
Please note: An application must be submitted prior to taking an entrance test.
All applicants to Trinity Christian School take an entrance test to assess readiness for Trinity’s program. Incoming first graders are invited to spend two sessions with the current first grade teachers, one in February and one in March. At that time applicants are given in-house tests to assess the likelihood of a successful year in our first grade. A Kindergarten screening takes place in February when the children are invited to come with their parents to see the classrooms and meet the teachers.

Students applying for second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade need to schedule a testing appointment through the Office of Admission. The tests administered to lower school students measure the students’ progress in reading comprehension, math, writing and language mechanics. Sixth grade applicants test in reading comprehension, writing and math.
Students applying for grades seven through twelve test during their visitation day. Test components are math, writing, reading comprehension and, for eighth through twelfth grade applicants, a Bible knowledge test. Seventh grade applicants will have two hours to complete the test, eighth through twelfth grade applicants will have two hours and twenty minutes to complete their tests.
Scheduling accommodations are made for applicant families currently living outside the greater Fairfax area.
