Danielle Guirgis, Class of 2013
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse, INOVA Fairfax

Caring for newborns who require medical intervention, while also educating and supporting their parents requires Danielle to be prepared for any situation at all times. “It can be really hard, but I have learned it is in those challenging moments that I grow and become more of who God intended me to be.” Danielle says that one of the things she learned at Trinity is that her career is meant to be another way to glorify God by using the gifts he has given her. “Nursing is a practical way of actively caring for and loving those around us.” Danielle explains that though her tiny patients cannot understand her, she prays over them and tells them about Jesus as she cares for them, believing that she is planting seeds. “When families feel hopeless or a situation seems hopeless, I am constantly reminded of where my hope is found, and I try to encourage families as much as possible.”
